I have tried and failed miserably to implement certain habits that I feel will improve my life. I start with a lot of excitement and by the end of a week I am burnt out. The reason being I start with too many habits. Simplify, simplify, simplify.
I'm participating in 30 days to a New Habit with Caylee Grey. I would go and look at her first post on habits here because it includes an awesome printable tracker to use and various links to good blogs and videos. I will be using the tracker to be able to physically cross off the day!
Habits I have implemented:
- Do dishes every night before bed (I hate dishes so this is an accomplishment)
- Healthy 4 Twenties (since I turned 20)
- Wake up Early (sort of, I aim for 6am but sometimes this does not happen)
Habits I want to implement:
- Write daily
- Drink a glass of water upon waking
- 8 glasses of water everyday
- Exercise 3x a week
- Not bite my nails
- Back exercises
What is my habit for November?
To meditate daily.
What resources is there?
I'm following Oprah and Deepak's free experiment for 21 days on Energy of Attraction. After the 21 days I will be using various videos I have found on youtube and an app called Headspace that has multiple free 10 minute sound clips.
How will I stay accountable?
I have found that telling people keeps me on track. That is where this blog comes in! Also Caylee has started a private Facebook group. Go to her website to find out more. I think this will really help me.
What is my trigger for meditating?
The trigger will be my breakfast. Wake up, drink my green tea, eat breakfast, meditate. Everyone knows I love my food and I need to eat right away upon waking.
What will remind me?
I have pinned Caylee's tracker onto my cupboard. I also will leave my habit planner out on my desk the night before.
What's a habit planner?
I wouldn't call it a planner. I found something I could write in. I love that it says "Work Hard Play Harder" on the front. After my meditation I plan to write a couple comments about how I thought it went.
I will be posting weekly on updates of how it is going here on the blog. I am excited to embark on this journey in meditating and I will continue it after this habit month.
Are you participating in a habit this month?
